Celebrating Women's History Month with Jessica Taylor

Welcome to Ezra Coffee Company's blog, where we are excited to kick off Women's History Month by honoring our incredible CEO and Founder, Jessica Taylor.

Grounded in Passion

Grounded in a love for coffee and a desire to make a difference, Jessica has perfected the roasting process to create rich, flavorful blends and infused Ezra Coffee with a deeper purpose. Her journey into the world of coffee started with a simple love for the beverage and a dream to share that love with others. After years of experimenting with different beans, roasting techniques, and flavor profiles, Jessica honed her craft to create blends that satisfy the palate and tell a story.

A Journey of Inspiration

As a self-made CEO, Jessica’s journey is as inspiring as her coffee. With a background as a former educator and Diversity & Inclusion strategist, she brings a unique perspective to Ezra Coffee Company. Her passion for storytelling and celebrating Black culture is evident in every aspect of our brand, from the packaging to the blend names. Each blend is carefully crafted to honor significant events and individuals in American history, allowing customers to enjoy a cup of coffee and learn about its rich heritage.

Crafting Meaningful Blends

Each blend tells a story, highlighting significant events and individuals in history. Whether the Lorde Baldwin Roast or the Le Grand Duc 1928 Blend, each cup of Ezra Coffee is a journey through history. Through Ezra Coffee, Jessica aims to educate and inspire, using every bag as a vessel for knowledge and remembrance. It's about coffee and the journey of learning and appreciating our shared heritage.

Empowering Through Education

But Jessica's commitment to education doesn't stop there. Ezra Coffee goes beyond the bag by donating some proceeds to provide scholarships for students pursuing four-year degrees. It's a testament to Jessica's belief in the power of education to change lives and create opportunities. By supporting Ezra Coffee, customers enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and contribute to a cause that empowers future generations.

Join us in honoring Jessica and the countless women who inspire us. Whether enjoying a cup of Ezra Coffee at home or supporting women-owned businesses, let's toast to the fearless leaders and innovators like Jessica, who are shaping our world.

This month we sat down with Jessica to get the deets on some of her favorite female entrepreneurs, leaders and coffees.

If you could have a dinner date with anyone who would be?

Condelezza Rice, Dr. Ruth Simmons, Mellody Hobson and Bisa Butler. Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely adore both of these women. I love how smart, talented and bold these women are. Each one of them has been the first in their respective spaces and I am in constant awe of how they have continued to raise the bar, pave the way for others and bring other women along.

As an entrepreneur, what has been a piece of advice that has truly stuck with you?

I attended a women's conference a few years back and Producer, Director and Filmmaker, Ava Duvernay was the Keynote speaker and during her speech she said, “when you are in your own lane, there is no traffic.” This really resonated with me because as an entrepreneur, it is easy to get distracted and in some cases even develop imposter syndrome.

What is your favorite Ezra blend?

I would have to say the 64th and Tulsa.

There are so many fun things you can do with this blend. I usually add lavender or rosemary to the coffee for an extra flavor. The 64th & Tulsa also makes a perfect affogato! ” -Jessica Taylor.

Happy Women's History Month from all of us at Ezra Coffee Company!
