Ube Latte (Purple Sweet Potato Latte)
Ube, a purple yam widely used in Filipino desserts, adds a naturally sweet and nutty flavor to coffee drinks. Its vibrant purple color makes this latte as beautiful as it is delicious.
Ingredients
1 shot espresso or ½ cup strong Candied Yams
¾ cup milk (dairy or oat milk)
1 tablespoon ube jam or ube syrup
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Ice (optional for iced version)
Instructions
Brew your espresso or strong Candied Yams coffee.
In a small cup, whisk the milk with the ube jam or syrup and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the ube milk into a glass and add ice if making an iced latte.
Slowly pour the espresso over the top.
Stir gently and enjoy.
Tip: For a stronger purple color and smoother texture, mix the ube jam with warm milk before adding it to the drink.
